Texans for Responsible Marijuana Policy hosts the second annual Texas Marijuana Policy Conference!

Sheraton Austin at the Capitol

August 30-September 1, 2019

Historic progress was made during this year’s legislative session. Our state legalized hemp production and expanded access to the Compassionate Use Program, creating tremendous opportunity for both consumers and entrepreneurs. Sadly, though, most patients are still being left behind and lawmakers failed to reduce penalties for low-level marijuana possession. There is still a lot of work to do in Texas!

Our three-day conference will offer presentations from policy and industry leaders to help attendees better understand and navigate the new legal climate. We will also be focused on opportunities and our path forward to ensure more meaningful policy changes when the legislature meets again in 2021.

In addition to policy and advocacy discussions surrounding decriminalization, medical cannabis, and hemp, we’ll feature a track of cannabis business sessions geared toward entrepreneurs, market watchdogs, and investors. We’ll also offer accredited continuing legal and medical education for attorneys and medical professionals.

Register now for early bird pricing and share the event with your friends and colleagues who are interested in this exciting movement! Rates go up on August 1st.

Ed Rosenthal is a leading cannabis horticulture authority, author, educator, social activist and legalization pioneer.

As one of the co-founders of High Times Magazine, Ed writes the much loved and long-running cannabis column, “Ask Ed.” The column continues to be published internationally.

Educator and Author

Ed Rosenthal’s Marijuana Grower’s Handbook, has become the definitive marijuana cultivation resource, inspiring millions to learn the best marijuana cultivation techniques. His book is the official course book of Oaksterdam University, and is still the only cannabis horticulture title ever to be reviewed by the New York Times.

Marijuana innovator

Ed is the founder of many successful socially responsible cannabis organizations, including; Quick Trading Publishing, focused on continuously researching and publishing the most accurate, up to date cannabis education,  Quantum 9, a marijuana consulting and technology company, Green Aid: The Medical Marijuana Legal Defense and Education Fund, a 501(c)(3), the International Cannabis Business Conference, the Wonders of Cannabis Festival and The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum in Amsterdam.

Cannabis Activist and Advocate

As an internationally known cannabis activist and advocate, Ed views marijuana law as a crucial social issue: one that hit him personally.  In 1999, Ed was appointed, “Officer of the City of Oakland”, directed to cultivate cannabis for patients. Three years later, the federal government shut down his city supported facility. Ed was arrested, and put on trial twice for marijuana cultivation in federal court. Ed’s highly publicized trials shifted public opinion in favor of state medical marijuana laws, highlighting for many the fact that marijuana laws have become more harmful to society than the behavior they were intended to regulate.
